This motel had exactly what I needed. Nice cozy rooms, warm shower, space to stretch out. Perfect for those solo adventures up north. The bed is comfy and the blankets and pillows are very comfortable and soft. I also love that I can park my vehicle right outside my room so unpacking and packing is easy and quick. This is my go to place when I'm in the area.
Super clean, very cozy, comfortable, warm rooms! Great motel, we will definitely be back. Owner was very kind, friendly, and accommodating. Right in town but just outside of the main, busier part, so it's a perfect location. We stayed in the winter and found the room was really warm and cozy. Had everything we needed. For our hockey tournament I booked another hotel through Expedia only to get there and find out the hotel was permanently closed. A teammate couldn’t make the trip and I called Royal Motel to see if I could have their room. Jimmy was absolutely amazing, so sweet, kind, and welcoming. This is an older roadside motel, but the rooms were clean and warm! I imagine each room has its own charm. The towels and blankets were amazingly plushy soft. I always felt extremely safe and comfortable as well. I will never recommend another place in Ironwood over Royal Motel.
The owner is very sweet and takes great pride in his Motel. If you’re looking for an affordable way to vacation with a clean and bug free room…this is it guys! Perfectly located close to Wisconsin border and the upper western UP. Only 3 hours to Copper Harbor with loads of Waterfalls and beautiful country you won’t see in the lower Peninsula.
I was so lucky to have found this place! After a long day of driving, a cozy bed and some wifi were all I needed, and Royal Motel delivered. Check-in was simple and done via a real human in front of me, no kiosk. He was polite and friendly, and gladly took me and my shihtzu (+$20, totally fair for a lil dog) in for the night. Unpretentious and simple, I'd recommend this to any fellow bare-bones travelers who just need a warm place to lay their head and a functioning TV to doze off to before getting back on the road.
Fantastic Location right on the edge of town. Manager was efficient. Was checked in quite quickly. The worst part of the room was the bathroom. Water pressure was pathetic, though the room was clean other that black footprints near the door (that didn't bother us - we're not clean-freaks). Having a fridge and microwave in the room was nice. Electrical socket on one side of bed was in poor condition. I had to bend the prongs on the CPAP cord in order for it to get power. The socket was also loose in the wall. That should definitely be fixed. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean.
This place is so cute and convenient! Outdated, but very cute and everything works! Water pressure in shower could be better, but no complaints. Very reasonably priced too.
